Next meeting to be held at McCormicks bar just one block from Union Station inside the historic Oxford hotel. Happy hour food items only 1.95 per plate. http://www.nationaltrust.org/historic_hotels/hotel.asp?hID=27 Now we need to pick a good day to hold this great gathering.
Well, well, well!! What kind of membership is required? Weeknight or weekend? If certain gentlemen from Wyoming are invited, methinks it might have to be over a weekend...
Weekends. Otherwise I'd have to request a day off. I work(finally!!) Monday through Friday, 3:30PM To Midnight.
Any chance we should move this topic topt he railfan or other forum? Not all denverites here are N scalers, some are just railfans, Steve Brown comes to mind...
Weekends for sure. I can only do a couple hours because my life is tight these days, but I'd love to get to know some other model railroaders in Denver. It's up to you guys how we do it. I thought we could sit and socialize for a bit and eat a snack. Then we could wander over to the millenium bridge and hang out over the rails for some easy railfanning of BNSF and light rail. We can also get a good view of Union station from trackside this way. Otherwise if someone wants to have some guys drop by for socializing at their house we could do that as well. Maybe just do a small group of people for starters. Fellow DGRS member, Geekboy
26th, Superday, in Cheyenne--Sherman Hill Model RR Club will be there, and N scale will represent! Come on up to Lion's Park, and check it out! Superday has car clubs, antique tractors, food, food, food, and all kinds of stuff. There's truely something for everyone.
Just lemme know when fellas... I've usually got evenings available, but my schedule is ALWAYS changing. So just set a date and I'll do what I can to be there. Edit: Oh and a big thanks to HemiAdda for sending me a whack on the head and letting me know y'all was talking about getting together.
You're welcome, Big Daddy! Welcome abaord, hopefully we can do something soon. Anyone planning on attending Superday?
Superday is no train show, but our model RR club will be an exhibitor. It's hosted by a local refinery. I forget why. We'll have a larger HO layout (DCC possibly) the 4x8' N layout I am working on, another HO layout, and possibly Z scale... Static displays from Z-to-G will be available for comparison. More info here: Superday
Sounds like a winner for a weekend. I'll be keeping up to see where this leads. Only thing is, I'm not so sure about this "gentlemans" thing - that could irrepairably damage the reputation I've worked so long for!
Just imagine the rumors that would follow....... Agree as well.......that if anyone discovered I was a "gentleman" , it could have serious side effects!! Oh well......Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
Boxcab...... A short lecture from Red might not be too bad. What wold worry me is if Harold decided to say something on the matter!!
I don't think I know any of you yet but I sure would like to meet some folks with similar interests in the area. Let me know what date you decide on. My schedule is very flexible but I will be gone the last week of June for some much needed R&R. Eric
