Has anyone built the John Armstrong Gulf Summit & Susquehanna Valley Railroad (GS & SV) in Z scale? I've done a few searches but not found anything.
    Thx

I missed that one, how large and what scale is the original? I know there are all kinds of track sections available these days.

The original plan was published in 1970 by Atlas in a "Nine Scale" booklet. It's still available on ebay. Photos of the layout are on the front and back of the booklet. I've attached an image of the cover. Original size was about 4 x 6. Several more recent builds are posted online; e.g., https://moshken.smugmug.com/Hobbies/Model-Railroad/Building-Atlas-N-18-Gulf/

I'm looking into the design and build of this layout in Z scale on a 4 x 8 or 3 x 8 size plan. Might allow for larger yard, and track plan would be more spread out. Scenery wouldn't be so cramped.

Let me know if anyone has attempted this in Z scale. Just gathering info right now.

    thanks

I actually bought that book sometime in the 1970's. It had some really fun looking layouts as I remember. There is no reason why you cannot build anything from that book in Z Scale, because Rokuhan has way more track, pier, and bridge pieces available than Atlas ever had, and those were all done with Atlas sectional track.
