Here's a pic of my new (not quite finished) scratch/bashed AMTRAK station.Everything except for the station building itself is Evergreen Styrene shapes. The building is a modified Pikestuff yard office The platform is 16 3/4 "long,or 240 N scale feet long. This station will do double duty on my home layout.
Looks great Catt. Now all we need to see are some F40's with Amfleet Cars, or a P42 with some Superliners at the station. When are we going to see those? BTW, is that MickeyD's from the ornament? Now you just need a couple of people! It looks too real like some stations areound here. With the train pulled up, you cannot see the station much less see the people boarding....PURRFECT!!!
I felt the same way, then i decided to make my own! i used the atlas GP40 frame (wheelbase only 1ft off...real is 33', atlas is 34'). i scrapped both pilots and made my own front pilot with a kato snowplow and steps made from atlas freight car ladders. i filled in the back pilot and stripped the shell so i can paint it into metra colors. finding the decals will probably be the hardest part. i just have to trim the frame for the fuel tank, battery boxes and air tanks. i hope it ends up looking and running great! ill let you guys know how it turns out if anyone's interested. later dave
Nope, not gonna do it! I'm going to wait, maybe another 10 years, but I'm going to wait all the same...
awww cmmon, it only took me a few days to do the whole thing! just need to figure out how to wire the lights and take care of the fuel tank. i should get done with it right before someone announces it... dave
