Alright, it's time to come out of my shell and share a few things with you guys.
This is the train set downstairs. I gotta say, the room isn't necessarily welcoming, but the set sure is. The Christmas pictures were taken this year. The table was built by my grandfather and myself. There is no warping yet. The rails aren't screwed in the table. The grass needs to be stapled in too. Other than those problems, it's pretty set up, with the exception of those Lionel flood lights. The table is plywood, with 1 x 3's and sawhorses as legs (although my siblings like to think of it as their "garbage table to put random stuff on" :eek:hboy:). The set is still "under expansion", so there might be an update sometime soon :).

Looks like you are having fun, which is all that matters.

The ferris wheel lighting would be interesting in a darkened room.

I certainly like the way you think. It looks interesting along with the train lights and accessories :).

I well remember my Lionel and America Flyer, as a youth. Street lights, building lights, the various search lights and towers. I had great fun getting it all going, then turning off the room lighting. Hours and hours of wonderful memories, which all began with something similar to what you have shown.

I remember when the layout was a simple "Figure 8" loop, with only 3 logging cars, a dockside switcher and a caboose. One track came with a button to press that makes the logging cars dump the logs into trays.

Yup. I had several versions of those log cars. Also the same of barrel cars, and milk cars. The milk cars still make me smile. I thought it was almost hysterical to push the button as fast as possible, and watch that little man toss cans helter-skelter onto the platform. :)

Yep, and hasn't really worked since, if I remember correctly. I'm not sure, I'll test it on power.

BoxcabE50, last night I ran the train set on power. Unfortunately the Dockside Switcher was not working, probably because of the track needs cleaning. That staticky noise in the background is a crossing guard that is kinda old, but it always sounds like that (the turntable motor speeds up when the train does).

    Mark, I like th layout.
And like Boxcab I had a Lionel O and American Flyer S.
No idea where they came from, as they just sort of showed up. I loved the milk car and log car also. I never had the turn table though.
The water tower with the light was cool. Never had a Farris Wheel either. Yours is a real eye catcher.

Thanks! The Ferris wheel is a separate product, so it's not Lionel/Bachmann/any other model train company that makes it. It is made by some company that's name is on the tip of my tongue. It's called the Starburst by the way
