Tom, Beautiful sets of power! I always love to see your locomotives. I hope one of these days I can figure out a way to visit you. I would really like to see those guys in person! Thanks, Dale
I Made these cars out of a couple undec Atlas cars, these cars served the Quaker oats facility in Cedar Rapids IA. Can you imagine how many packages of instant oatmeal you can fit in one of these?
Are these 'shop trucks' used for painting, or did the cars really ride on Barber-Bettendorf Swing Motion trucks?
Ha Dale, I wouldn't even venture a guess. MrT, yes they are sitting in shop trucks. I was sure I had taken pictures after weathering and in service, but I can't find them anywhere. I swear I don't understand where these images go.
Merry Christmas From the QA&P! Santa with his lady helpers and a very lucky train crew on the service pit lead.
With the addition of a couple more prototypically correct cabooses for the SL-SF in service, these 2 have been bump to the QA&P,I removed the Frisco logo and lettering, and added the QA&P slogan and lettering. these also have red marker light LED's on either end just push the bleed rod to one side or the other to switch ends. Currently they are both riding on those GSC Swing-hanger trucks for a smooth ride. An Atlas cab below. And this Athearn cab highly modified.
Those outside swing hanger trucks are pretty interesting. Are they brass parts? I haven't seen those in HO scale very often. Centralia has a variant under the Union Pacific cabooses, but I don't know if this is the same one.
Finished up a couple cars over the last few weeks. Athearn (highly modified) cars with Herald king decals. Hercules Powder CO. Hope you get a bang out of them. IM trucks, KD drawbars, modified the decals to match the images.
