    Peirce, those are fantastic photos. Does the right half of the builders plate read "Great Western Railway"? Was (Is?) the Queen gauged at 7 feet for Isambard Kingdom Brunel's GWR broad gauge experiment???

    The only builder's plate I saw (or part thereof) was what I photographed. It clearly has the words "Great Western Railway Company" on it.

    I have no information at this time on the rest of your question, but maybe our Brit members can help out.

    After reading the Wikipedia link you provided, I would say "Yes", the Queen was, and is more than likely a Broad Gauge GWR locomotive....Thanks! :thumbs_up:
