I'm trying to track down the best way to make thumbs and html pages for my static images.

Now, I know it can be done with photoshop, acdsee, irfanview, etc.. BUT, what I want to do is traverse a directory structure, and for each directory, create thumbs, and an index page. I don't want to have to do a directory at a time, and as far as I know those apps work that way.

Anyone have a good/easy/fast way of doing this?

    I couldn't wait, so I wrote my own :)

here's how it works. you specify thumb size, index file name, and a couple other things in a setup/property file.. then run it against any directory you like. I'll traverse every subdirectory, look for images(jpg, gif, and png at the moment), make the thumbnails, and make an index html page for that directory, with links to go up and down...

So you end up with a way to browse, via your browser, all of the images in an entire tree.

the index html file has a template, so you can tweak it however you like.. style, color,etc..

Impressive. Sorry I didn't have an answer. What Irfanview does with thumbs is as close as I could get.

neither irfanview or thumbs plus will make index pages recursively...

I've finished writing my own anyway, but thanks for the suggestions :)
