Is that actually Centralia, as your original caption notes? Or Chehalis, where the museum depot is located?

July 1978 at Princeton Jct., NJ, a G races toward New York City. In the bottom shot, that's Nassau Tower at the right.

A few years ago, Number 8 is at the west switch of Belton, Montana. Station stop just around the corner.

The only thing I see wrong these days is they need to get away from the modern "wave" paint schemes and get back to the straight line schemes railroads had for many years which convey a sense of sleekness and speed much better than these goofy "creations".

I'd like something like this, only with the Statue of Liberty on the nose instead of the Minute Man. Different colors possibly.

Not quite ready to head up the Builder, No. 9 was mighty useful muscling cars around at Amtrak's Beech Grove, IN shops. She's a former U.S. Air Force GE 65-Tonner. [04-18-1987]

One of the Amtrak units died at Glorieta Pass in New Mexico so a freight locomotive was added in Albuquerque to take the train on into Los Angeles. July 2014. Photographer unknown. Wasn't me because I was on the train. :)
