here is NS train 349 headed quickly to the Boylan Jct. in Raleigh behind 3 D9-40CW's and an EMD unit: Harold
I wish I had places like that close to me to see NS power. Nice pic Chessie. Thanks for taking the time to post it.
Thanks Mike.... Having someone appreciate the photos makes the time spent editing and posting them worthwhile . Harold
Harold, for once, all the locos in your picture are the same colour I assume you are standing on a bridge (unless you are very tall) Is it a footbridge or a road bridge? Over here, the bridge sides seem to be very high these days so it is difficult to take photographs over the wall/fence.
Yes, kind of boring to have all of the locos in the same boring black and white paint , however, the lead unit IS painted in a newer scheme with the white numberboard area I am fairly tall, but I am also on a bridge when taking this picture. The sides on this bridge, a road bridge with a pedestrian sidewalk are only about 3-4' high, so it is perfect for taking photographs. This is the famous "Boylan Junction" that I have posted numerous photographs from. (although many of them are taking facing the other side of the bridge and the diamonds). Harold
Last time I stood on a bridge like this to watchtrains, I got an eyefull of embers from the exhaust!LOL!
Not to many cinders coming off those units However, I am always windful of where the exhaust is Harold
