if i would have had my camera with me yesterday, i could have snapped a pic of that WC unit with the traction motor sitting on the walkway while it was sitting on #9 drop table track in my shop... i thought it was a little funny too...
OMG: i've got lots of shots of CN's money saving ideas, over the years, but this has to be the best one yet! Wish I too had been able to get it on film.
What I would enjoy is a movie of the management changing out that axel way out in the middle of no-where!
i'd enjoy seeing that too. i haven't had to do it myself though [dirt easy to do on the drop tables though]
Nick, without the drop table, I get a mental picture of two managers out there: Hey Fred hold it up a bit higher, and I'll set this here now axel under the snow plow! Pass me the pliers and screw driver so's I kin hook up all these wires. Do you remember if the blue one goes in front with the red, or in back with the green one? I'm not sure Jack, stay there while I let this thing down and come look. I thought about bringing a manual along, but it was so heavy you know. Try putting the red one on the frame and hook the green one to that thing in back and the blue one has got to go in front then see? Got it? Yeah! yeah, some of the management at my place would be like that... last set of leads i connected was close to 6 months ago [they didn't have any avalable electricans] and i just beat the gladhands together with a hammer, slipped the sleves back up and clamped them up. didn't want to do the job really as it is crossing the trades, but it was with the deal of me and my mate going home early [0630 or so] on sunday morning so good enough deal for me there
