I have a Toy State car that appears to me to be a baggage car or postal car but which I am curious as to the gauge. The body is similar to the G "size" New Bright box car (and I plan to use this with my NB stuff with different trucks as soon as I come upon some) but the wheel gauge is not G; it is wider. So looking at this site http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rail_transport_modelling_scales I thought it would be wide gauge (Lionel's standard gauge) or 2 gauge but find those were essentially discontinued before this car's manufacture. So I am confused.

It is very possible this car is a toy maker's random size, not actually matching a specified gauge commonly known.

Thanks. That didn't occur to me but makes perfect sense. I picked up another car with the same size wide gauge wheels, like the second from last as shown here http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/mld/tag/4326325185.html. So it appears Toy State is made to run on the Lionel toy stuff. I like the different look and so keeping with my toy stuff will modify or replace the wheels on this one also sometime later.
