Scenic experts, what's the difference in Scenic Express - UltraCal 30 Hydrocal vs Woodland Scenics Lightweight Hydrocal? I intend to use it to work on a snow scene, not necessarily make rock molds. The 6lb Ultracal is 13$ and the 2.5lb Lightweight stuff is 18$, not counting shipping. Recommendations?
Go find your local plaster/drywall finisher. Ask them where they buy their supplies. I've got a Drywall Supply Company out back in the Industrial Park that sells a 50 LB bag of Hydrocal for CHEAP. So what if I can't use all the bag. At the price they want for a BIG bag, I can give some away to my fellow modellers, use what I want and store the rest. When I'm storing Hydrocal, you make sure that an AIRTIGHT container is used, the stuff will keep, just has to be in an airtight container.
