This is what I use. I got mine at Safeway, so I'm sure they are available lots of places. You can stick the cover on the handle end if you want them a little longer.

I also started using the GUM cleaner brushes, but I have a set of the Green ones which are one size larger than the ones Dave is showing.
They seem to work very well. One doesn't need to push them INTO the couplers, just gently press them onto the couplers and twist.

The only problem with plastic tools, like the Rix, is that the point eventually wears down and then it's more difficult to get it between the coupler knuckles. That's why metal devices are better.

I prefer the Rix pick. Metal can scratch or damage things, become magnetized, cause shorts, etc. Not overly clumsy, but working with N scale can be like sewing while wearing boxing gloves. Don't want that while operating !!! I should have waited 'til APR 1 to post. I would have told you I have operating cut levers on all my stuff !!! :):):)

I got the two I ordered from Rix. That's two packages - two in each. And a thank you note with two more. Making it six. So I can lay them all over the track. (y)
Thanks for the other ideas. The dentist will be happy as well.
