Does anyone have information on this morning's accident in Northfield, VT? I haven't found details on general media other than it happened. Just found this photo on Twitter. Also says that it's Train #55.
Twitter post says 2 injured, and that large boulder (rock slide) was the cause. Please understand that this all is unconfirmed social media reporting. Amtrak.com status shows #55 Service Disruption.
For the record, I assume the above photos are Public Domain, which I retrieved from this website. If any administrator believes otherwise, please remove with my apologies. I don't wish to cause any problems for TB. Thanks
Hank- Those photos appear to be linked in from that site. Which is fine and legal. If they don't want such to happen, they should have their webmaster set up hot link protection.
I believe the "seriously" was transported to the Hitchcock in Hanover, NH, associated with Dartmouth Med School. It may have been the engineer after looking at the photos. I believe Amtrak generally runs single personnel in the cab. At least that what I saw each time I rode the Crescent.
