OK, here's the deal. I have an Atlas VO1000 undecorated body shell. I don't want any money for it as it it just a left over from a conversion. I will look for suitable paint, correct decals and paint this shell for you. All I ask is cover expenses (paint, decals and 40 bucks or so for labor and 10 bucks for shipping.

You can then install the shell on any Atlas VO1000 you can find.

Thank you for the offer... Here's where I'm at. Have a thread regarding Kato Crossover Stutter. Both loco's had issues. One has been resolved. The other is on its way back to Atlas for service. In the event it comes back unresolved, most likely will sell, but before that, will want to get a VO-1000 asap. I'm new re-entry into hobby, batting 0 for 2 on new locomotives so I will definitely want to test any loco on my track. Assuming it goes well, I'd be very interested.

If you provide paint information, like preferred manufacturer, I'd be happy to get. Already have decals...

I never realized that there were two CNJ greens, but it makes sense that the road would have omitted the blue tint evident in Deep Sea Green in favor of cheaper regular green as it's fortunes fell. Those are fine looking decals Mark.

Pretty nice, thank you. Interesting at 68' Bought the CNJ decals primarily for Atlas Trainman 50 003 784 combine below. I like them very much because they are a 60' shortened version. Think saw actual Pullman plan somewhere showing 72' Originally wanted "Central Railroad of New Jersey" but doesn't fit on 60' so bought the Jersey Central Lines decals instead. Had a unlettered passenger car on order but its on hold until seeing at least 1 other loco run thru crossover as nicely as the F3.

Thanks again.. Also for the color info. So many color greens CNJ had. Crazy. The BLI F3 is more olive and the 732 and 733 look pretty close 733 darker. to the Atlas's SD35 and H15-44 H15 might be a little darker.

I was in a hobby shop many years ago agonizing over Reading greens with a color book in hand. The shop owner suggested that I don't get too crazy with it, as colors vary depending on the light source, photo print quality, weathering, personal perception and a dozen other factors. With that advice, I subscribed to the close-enough school and have been there since. :)

Oh, I agree... Actually, wasn't trying to beat up the colors, just find it interesting of all the different greens used by CNJ. Re-Watched the 5 CNJ videos last night just for fun to look at colors.

Thank you. Thinking they should look nice on the combine... and whatever else needs CNJ lettering. :)

I missed out on two MicroTrain's Frisco tank cars a few years ago and have been kicking myself ever since. Have watched on ebay but no luck so far.

Sometimes I do a quick google on particular atlas or micro trains cars number. Got lucky a couple of times but like you, have a few cars' part numbers in the eBay automated search that have come up once in almost 9 months. (lost out). Oh well, guess its just a waiting game??

I wish I had the success at train shows others have. I see postings on TrainBoard from others who find some great stuff, but I rarely pick up anything. Most of what I see tabled in N Scale is junk. However, I do enjoy talking to modelers and seeing layouts that are brought in. Admittedly I live in an area that doesn't enjoy a wide variety of shows.

Check your inbox for leads on a couple of shops that might still have those Frisco tank cars.

eBay's "supersellerb" has had these eight CNJ boxcars listed without respite since 12/2020 at $240.55. It would appear to a rational Seller that after 18 Months, nobody's going to pay $30/Ea for them. No worries about waiting too long on these. :)

It's hard to imagine if one really wants to sell, they wouldn't price item accordingly. Quite honestly, I definitely would not pay $30 each on a 6 unit purchase for that car's "common look" and certainly would be out of the question for my small layout. On the other hand, and say this with my limited knowledge of BLW, is that they look well made. I'd consider paying $30 for a new CNJ green box that BLW made at one time (the only commercially sold green n scale CNJ box I have ever seen) as well as one of the 2 Red CNJ caboose(s) we are both interested in. In either case, wouldn't buy more than 1 or 2 of each at $30 and not 8 for $240. My challenge is the layout---is a mid 60s winter with holiday feel and only CNJ locos and rolling stock. Significantly limits options and forces paying a higher price, up to a point like when we discussed the lost cabooses. Fortunately almost done with rolling stock acquisition, at least for the foreseeable future.

Guess as the saying goes.. A fair price is whatever the seller and buyer agree upon.. Also, I have a few items on eBay that one would consider high because there is still some attachment or indecision about the item or something along those lines however generally average the solds for the same item when pricing most things.

I found a hobby shop a few months ago that had a lot of CNJ rolling stock, bought a bunch, coupled with what already had, have enough diversity now(except for caboose and another passenger car) for my layout and the car looks trying to achieve. Even the 2 master series cars purchased were priced well below any eBay listing for the same thing. To be fair, and on occasion a couple of good purchases...found a red master series box last November, bid and won for $15 include ship.. auction from dealer.

Maybe I'm a little leery of eBay because I see items listed as new but its clear, for example, the coupler pin was cut. IMHO, whether the cutting is necessary for smooth operation or not, it does not come from factory that way and, the cutting of the pin should be performed by the end purchaser of the "new" item.

    Caveat emptor..
