    HO Scale cars

Well I got bored with weathering N Scale cars recently so I got out my old HO collection and did some of them. Here is how they looked before the weathering.

    After Weathering

And here they are now including a Proto 2000 Conrail gondola. I used railroad tie brown and rail brown paints to weather the cars. the Conrail gondola had a several coats of each. I also used a cigarette lighter to bend the plastic.

On the DT&I box car I painted rust streaks with burnt sienna then let it dry.
Then i just brushed on some rail brown and let it set for a couple of minutes. Finally I took a tissue and wiped it off before it was fully dry. It leaves a nice soiled look as you can see.

The boxcar doors got a light coating of burnt sienna and that was wiped off before drying.

I will upload a pic of the EL box car later.....

    Nice Job on Railbox car

Nice job OC on the Railboxcar, I have one of these kits I picked up awhile back but never built it or seen one built till now. Nice job on it I know it wasn't an easy task. The Beet car is slick as well but I'm Impressed with that Gloor Kit.
Nice work everyone and thanks as usual for sharing.

I'll post my contribution as soon as I can find my card reader. lol

Some of those are a duluted white acrylic wash, but if you are talking about the Mikado, that was done with a white pastel that I scraped to make it a dust, and dry brushed it on the locomotive.

I bought this St. Marys Railroad 50' rib side box car lightly weathered. It's subtle but it's there.
