Tom: You did a great job on weathering those hoppers. It's time for a clinic on "Weathering Hoppers", including the trucks and wheel sets as well. Stay coll and run steam...
Powersteamguy, Where did you get the small coaling tower and sanding tower? Are they kits or scratchbuilt? They look great and they are about the right size for my small facility. Eric
Eric: Those are old Atlas kits that I weathered. I think they are still available. I don't use plastic building kits anymore. I prefer lasercut building kits. They're much easier to modify and weather . Stay cool and run steam.....
Russell Yes and no! The layout currently consists of two pieces of plywood resting on top of two drafting tables with the remains of the first layout still in a few places. I currently have some EZ-Track down in the shape of an oval. There is a small yard on one side. The Water Tower Diorama is currently hooked into the track. I having been trying to start the benchwork on the second layout but have not been able to do so. I am now think on some how reusing the plywood I already have in place.
Really nice pictures you guys. Sorry I missed it this weekend, but it is really nice to see all the good work. Keep it up!!
Whew, you can at least run trains round and round. That is my therapy most of the time when I don't have modules set up somewhere. I have a door with an oval of Kato Unitrak to run trains. It is amazing how well that works for me.
I know what you mean Russell. Right now I am re-examining the plywood and seeing if I can use it in the new layout. Originally I was going to get rid of it and go with a narrower but longer layout. Seeing how almost two years have past and I had not gotten to the benchwork I might as well try something with what I have. I can always extend it later.
Man let me tell ya, that is sweet looking Loco. DANG!!!! Thats because that Southern steamer is MINE. Great shot Daniels Dad!!!!
