That is a very nice photo. Looks like a lot of attention went into its composition, and into the model. Nice backdrop, too. I also like the weathering of the rolling items. Good job.
Here we are entering the second deck, above the main yard. At the extreme upper right, you can see where we are going about two scale miles from now. That's the grade to next deck. The abandoned station behind the lead unit is scratchbuilt. The rock cliff is a photograph of a granite cliff in Alaska. We're somewhere in mid-Massachusetts. A lot of tobacco is grown here, especially in the Connecticut River Valley. The tobacco is used as the finest of wrappers for cigars.
Pete: Nice scene. I don't recognize the shed in the foreground. Looks like a kit. Can you tell me more? Thanks.
Here is a shot just taken of my newly purchased MKT GP7 I have just started a new topic on GP7/9's for people to post images of their models. GP7/9's
Pete, that's a great shot, but where are the drying doors on the sides of the tobacco barn.....:teeth: (Only an "educated donkey" who'd been in the Valley would ask that. )
Wow! How many folks would know about that?mg: On a layout this big, details get deferred. Like, the fields don't have cheesecloth protecting them from the sun. No, I don't got no N scale cheesecloth! These tobacco barns are much too well built. Wait 'til you see the potato sheds on the next level. Wait 'til I get a new keyboard with a functioning "t" in it! I won' have o reype everyhing!
Looks like the same awesome talent is back this weekend, so I submit my own work with hat in hand... Nice work, everyone. You all take me to a different, yet familiar, place. Of course, the steam helps...a lot!
Another attempt to learn how to make everything come together...the yard, and its imaging. The double slip is my only hand built turnout of its type, and it actually works. It is a bit bumpy, depending on what is going through it, but I can tune it over time. Thanks for taking a look.
Nice water tower. I have a Plastruct (HO on my N scale layout), but that one is very nice. Scratchbuilt? Thanks.
(gulp)...ummm, no. It is a Walther's built-up. :embarassed: I agree, though, that it is very nice. I'll have to weather and decal it, but that is a project for a really bad day outside. Thanks for noticing!
Very nice everyone! I've been lurking for quite a while now. Life has kept me away from modeling. Work has been keeping me busy but I have just accepted a new job that will result in us moving so hopefully I'll get a bigger train room...=) Keep up the great work ya'll.
Here is my PRN San Antonio and Pacific RS1 lashed up with two SP/SSW RSD5s. The RS1 has the NSN retroframe for extra pulling power, so all three of these together are heavy enough for the switchers at the Texas Grain Company, Sugarland, Texas.
Flash, Thats a really nice looking unit, is this new to the roster or a project completed along time ago?
No modeling from me... I spent 3 of the more hardcore, difficult days railfanning in my favorite part of Colorado, with a great friend: We bagged shots like this at Tunnel 27: Bridge 36.45: and this, in Gore Canyon at Tunnel 40: And MANY more!!
