[IMG] Weekend Modeling Photo Challenge "Caboose/EOT" Ends July 20th

*Please read all rules as they may have changed from previous weeks*
If you notice a typo, error, or confusing statement, please notify Mr. Train or Mystere immediately for correction and clarification.

    Modeling Photo Challenge Topic: "Caboose/EOT"

Sorry about the late start. It didn't even cross my mind that it was Friday until just a while ago!

    1. All challenges close at 10pm Pacific Standard Time, and will be noted with a "Time's up!" post within the thread.
    2. Please use the challenge as a motive to take a new photograph rather than using a photograph that you have taken in the past.
    3. Challenges are open to everyone, have fun!!
    4. Though not required, commenting on other peoples pictures is encouraged.
    5. Only one image per participant so please choose the image carefully.
    6. Any posts with images taken before the commencement of the challenge will not be included in the poll.
    7. For photos to be eligible they must be taken between Friday July 17th and Monday July 20th.
    8. Ensure dates and times on your camera are correct.
    9. On July 20th, all entries will be put up for a public vote, in which all members of Trainboard may vote for their favorite entry(s), regardless of whether you submitted an entry or not. Voting will be unlimited multiple choice.

We look forward to seeing many contributors, remember this is to encourage all photographers to take a shot of the subject rather than post a photo taken in the past.

Just by coincidence I took a pic of a corner of my layout on Friday:
Baltimore & Ohio train No. 5, The Capitol Limited, has B&O E7A No. 66 on the point as it speeds west through the Cumberland Narrows in 1955. The eastbound coal drag has B&O caboose class I-7 C2500 on the rear.

The E7 is from Life-Like, and the caboose is an old Con-Cor unit.

I've been trying to figure out how to model the Cumberland Narrows - this corner of my layout is about the best shot I have at it.

Nice cabeeses, fellas. Love the light on yours, Mike.

Okay, here's the only caboose that I have weathered. It is being repaired on the RIP track.

    Kenneth,

Could you do me a favor and move the ineligible photo to the Cutting Room Floor thread?
I appreciate you sharing, however we want to keep this thread limited to the photos that will be entered into the poll. For one reason, it helps me and Mr. Train out so we do not have to remember which photos are entries and which are just for show, but the main reason it it adds confusion to the voters who may think it is an entry.

    Much appreciated [IMG]

    Thanks Adam.

To recap- Kenneth posted an image "just for fun" that was taken outside the time limits for this weekend. While this is encouraged in the Cutting Room Floor thread we want to limit the contest threads to just those photos eligible and intended for entry. This helps avoid confusion both when posting the poll and voting. Sorry for any inconveniences.

Ok, back to the contest! [IMG]

One of my first N scale items, a Bachmann ATSF Caboose showing off it's new brass ladders, railings, and chimney.

    Mystere,

That's a nice updating/detailing out of a model that I am guessing was probably pretty basic when you got it.

    Thanks Adam,

Yeah, that caboose is probably around 18 years old. The original ladders and chimney have long been gone and both the front and rear steps/platforms at some point in their life have been separate pieces as well as the yellow top which you can see no longer sits right.

Its just one of those sentimental pieces of the collection, and though I have newer MT cabooses with far superior detail, this one is still by far my favorite. More so now that I've given it my own touch of personality. [IMG]

Hmmm. that gives me a new thread idea..

Here's my offering. A CB&Q baggage door Waycar. these were mostly used on locals. They were longer than a standard caboose, and with the baggage doors they could haul numerous items to local customers. this was made from a standard N Scale offset cupols caboose..............Road#14254[IMG]

Great stuff. Anyone else have some caboose action? or perhaps an EOT strobe?

Only about half a day left, so get those entries in. [IMG]

Marty, Nice Q waycar! I would have a pic of my fred and caboose light but the camera has had it. It has a grinding noise and a few beeps and then displays foocus error and then shuts off...
Think it is time for a new one...

    Ok, poll is up!

Silly me forgot to put an end date on the poll, but it will close at 10am Monday July 27th. I'll be online then to post a break down of the results at that time.

And don't forget to vote for the Prototype challenge from last week. The poll is still active, closing on July 23rd. [IMG]
