Ops, I neglected to get this going this morning. I was up before sunrise heading to the Armadillo ranch to repair the pump on the well. My brother was there and the 43 year old pump just gave up.
Anyway I am just home now and offer this shot of the Texas Special being pulled by E8s.

Seems to be an E-unit theme today... Very nice!

    But I must digress:

    GT_3517_USRA_2-8-2.JPG

Grand Trunk (New England) 3715, Broadway Limited USRA light Mikado, crossing the main road into town.

Interesting back story on that engine - in 1957 they used her as a stand-in steam heat generator for the huge grain elevators on the Portland (Maine) waterfront, while they upgraded the fixed installation from coal to oil. That shows how much power is in one of those machines.

    Magnificent beast.

I ran some trains on a friend's layout today, and then did a little railfanning in my red Gremlin.
The two hoppers are mine, the layout is not...

Finally was able to post this afternoon.

Arrohead Models PRR H39 Hopper Car kit, The PRR settled on this car as the replacement for the H21 Hopper car after experimenting with the H35 and H36 Classes. Over 16,000 of these cars were built to haul coal on the PRR. Car was painted with Scalecoat II PRR Freight Car Red and lettered with a couple of Herald king decal sets for the proper lettering for a repainted car. All the H39;s were painted black, but some shop painted this car in red, and this car down to the car number replicates the picture in Teichmoller's book on PRR hoppers.

Not E-units but FP-7's for the mountains!

A few weeks ago I showed a picture of my new F7B, well here it is with the FP7A;s with a passenger train on the Strongsville Club Layout.

    Thanks for looking,

    Rick Jesionowski

Work is progressing on the upper main lines of the Sebring Model Railroad Club at the Bent Creek renovation. The old yard is gone and track us being laid for the sidings which will serve the new docks and piers.[IMG][IMG]

Okay, this is from Tuesday and not exactly the weekend, but since we haven't started a new thread yet...

Anyway, the two fictional railroads that run on the Sebring Club trackage (on separate main lines) are the Ohio and Western Allegheny, and the Lake Erie and Ohio. Their colors and logos can be seen below.[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]
