I had fun this week trying to recreate a scene from a photograph with the depot I have been playing with. I did incorporate liberal amounts of "modeler's license" wherever I deemed it necessary. Getting everything to line up the same with the same prospective was near impossible so I just went with sort of close. Plus I had to add a train. ;)

Those tires on the platform are pretty random, don't see that very often!

Did a great job on the scaled down version, just need a B&W version!;)

One of the garages in town must have had a big order dropped off and has yet to pick them up. There was no freight depot in Richmond so don't know if they came as express on a passenger train or a local freight dropped them off. This is Richmond's "Gasoline Alley" where the tires were probably bound.

Yep. Well done recreation. (The baggage man needs to be "cockier" though. ;)) Aah, the Daylight.

Good morning from sunny and warm Northeast Ohio. Just got back from cardiac rehab where they increased the duration and difficulty of my excercise program.

Today is Detroit, Toledo and Ironton Day!

First a 40' Front Range ACF Boxcar kit where I widened the door opening and installed a large plug door. Made some changes in the detail parts from the kit parts then painted with Floquil GTW Blue Paint and lettered with 3 sets of Herald King and Mask Island decals. The DTI acquired 25 of these cars in the late 70's from Chicago Freight Car to service the recently expanded General Mills plant in Toledo, OH hauling cereal in these lined cars. The company I worked for did the electrical work on the expansion.

Next is a 50' Kadee PS1 car, painted with Scalecoat II Cascade Green and Black paints and lettered with SGS (Now High Ball Graphics) decals. The DT&I purchased 100 of these cars to service paper plants in Northern Michigan and Wisconsin (car ferry on the Ann Arbor). Interesting story on these cars PS wanted extra money for the red points on the compass, so the DTI went with the white points. When the purchasing manager went to inspect the cars he objected to the Hydroframe 60 slogan as it was not on the purchase order and wanted it removed, PS ended up painting the red points on the compass.

Also finished another Athearn Trailer for my Rail Blazer, Scalecoat II White and Silver paints and Highball Graphics Decals.

A pair of Athearn GP40-2's with general freight on the Strongsville Club Layout.

    Thanks for looking!

This week it is the folks from ALCO showing off their wares to the RK&M brass with a couple of C-628 locos in ALCO Demonstrator scheme (Bowser Executive Line).

With this weeks MLB Field of Dreams game played in a Iowa cornfield I thought I would post the field of dreams from my Bifold Branch layout.

Setting sample for the new British Columbia N scale layout. AnyRail and drawings are a good theory. But maybe there are other ideas.

A relic of my old layout. I will use some parts again. It is only demonstratively filed as a reminder. There might be a snow shed there.

We started building our new house two years ago. We have been living in the new house since October last year. I couldn't continue to use the old layout in the form. Now I have more space and build a new layout. I saved some old parts and can continue to use them. The new old theme is BC Canada. This is also our annual holiday destination.

I will of course report here. Thorough pre-planning is the most difficult process. I'm afraid that 40 square meters is not enough again......

Then build it in Z-scale, and you could do the southern half of BC!!:D

No, I'll build in N and fly back to BC. It would be best if I stayed right there. :D
