I built this car for the Railroad Line Forum 60 day Challenge, I had posted pictures of the in progress car in the What's on my Workbench thread. I finished this car earlier this week and it is of an unusual prototype, the GATC 3500 CF Dryflow Car, which BLMA has just announced in N Scale, this car is in HO Scale. This was a worthwhile experience building this kit-bash in a box by Eastern Car Works, I managed to corral another of these kits and will be doing the Wabash version of this car in the future. Thanks for looking! Rick J
I've been working on the layout. I've added a viaduct that Scott Lupia gave me a few years ago. I wanted to add it for along time. When I got forced from my apt due to disablities, my layout got cut into 3 pieces. It was the perfect time to find a spot for it. I wanted it to be a focal point. Over the last couple of weeks, I've been working with plaster & enclosing the viaduct. I finished painting the plaster & started landscaping the area. Its far from finished, but this is the progress so far. The viaduct is magnifecent & the photos don't do it justice. I'm working on another area of the layout too. I had to pull up & re-lay track. Basiclly redoing the whole area. I'll be ballasting soon.
Russell that photo is marvellous fullscreen. Nice car, Rick, and a fine couple of scenes in the making, Mike. This is the water around the back of my little causeway/bridge with my Boston and Maine GP38-2 blocking out the rest of the room Mike
Spent today working on a road. Here are a couple of big orange things making their way through the desert.
I finally got my hands on some sculptamold last week and got to work on my hillside along the Ravenswood East Yard lead/main switch area. Paid $10 for a 3lb. bag and that wasn't enough to do the job. Need more paper and cardboard in the unfinished area and a smoother finish layer in the covered area.
Time is rare, but now the baggage car from the LaBelle kit is on the way to the paint shop . And a pic from the lumber yard at Salina: Wolfgang
