Out at the local H0 scale club this afternoon. We have a "fun run" where members can run any type of train they wish. here is a general scene from the layout. Stewart Great Northern FT passes through the South Texas countryside and an old abandoned house. House built by Bill Eubanks. I would like to point out that this house has a screen door where someone has carelessly kicked in the screen. Looks like they also stuck their hand through the screen at the door knob.. here's a closeup. That Bill Eubanks thinks of everything!
Great shot, Russ. As one of the ones over on the N scale forum who is working on Santa Fe U30CGs on the aforementioned thread ..... ( http://www.trainboard.com/grapevine/showthread.php?92144-Trix-U30CG/page13 ) .... I'm still working (slowly) on mine.... Here's photo my work in progress: on the left is work-in-progress upleveled shell on orig Trix mechanism... my target config on the right, another WIP upleveled/detailed shell on Kato U30C mechanism... Wish I was as fast or as good as Russ Straw.... Russ, you can paint/decal build things for me anytime ... thx for posting the great pic .
A couple Dash 9's are pulling a tanker train across the canyon bridge toward summit while a local arrives in town on the lower track.
Anyhow it's nice to see a New Haven model again! Was it custom painted or by the factory? I did a lot of painting myself but not the RS-1. Fons Bossaers
I was lucky to find that RS-1. It is a factory painted Atlas model and it looks so good that I have no desire to weather it. I would love to have the RS-11 but I just can't find one. Atlas 8794
I managed to find some time to finish the walls and roof on my N scale Kimberly Clark building. The main building is 24" x 44" in size. The mostly hidden continuous running track along the backdrop passes through the back left 1/3 of the building. I still need to paint the building, paint the rubberized membrane roofing, add details and weather the whole thing, then add pavement, interior loading docks, ground cover, etc. These are just cell phone grab shots. The roof top details are just place holders and are not attached. The interior unloading bays hold 7 and 5 box cars respectively and there is room to spot an additional 4 to 5 box cars along the outside loading doors on the right. Eric
