Good morning from cloudy, cool and rainy Northeast Ohio!

Got a lot of stuff done now that I retired last week, but a lot of interruptions with doctor and veteranian visits.

Branchline 50' AAR Boxcar kit with tabbed sill and Despatch Ends and Roof, painted with Floquil Jade Green and Scalecoat II Black Paints, then lettered with Microscale Decals. Car was built in 1956 in lot 850-B and repainted in the Cigar Band scheme in 1967. Used in general service with the car to be returned to Lansing MI for loading.

Tangent PS4000CF Covered Hopper kit, painted with Scalecoat II MofW Gray paint and lettered with a mixture of sets from Mark Vaughn. Car was one of 100 purchased by the Wabash for grain service and was the largest size covered hopper on the railroad until its absorbtion by the N&W in 1964.

Branchline Plug Door Boxcar kit, Painted with Scalecoat II Silver and Grimy Black Paints and lettered with Oddballs Decals. I built this car for one of my club members who gave me a bunch of decals, this one included of three for this car with the proviso I build one for him, so here is his car, I did mine a few months ago.

Last week I took my Rock Island GP35 and U25B that I finished last year over to the club along with a bunch of Rock Island and other cars, amazing how many paint scemes the Rock Island had on their locomotives and freight cars.

    Thanks for looking!

This past week,, I managed to get to a few Accurail cars that have been waiting for weathering. I think I showed some of these during construction.

The KCS car was a $5 find on eBay and had to be repaired and cleaned up. The Cotton Belt and StLB&M cars are recent Accurail releases. The Monon car is a bit new for the herald applied, but I did like its style. The decals for that one are are from K-4. Not sure if I will keep this one or go to a truss-rod car from Athearn/Branchline. Some seem to have wavy roof-walks. They seemed to warp when I applied clear coat. Might need to tack those down.

Still on my work table. I have to straighten that lamp post.
Sara's opinion is not necessarily that of the forum:LOL:

Rainy northeast Ohio. At least it's not snowing! :D If I did not say so before, congrats on the retirement. Hope medical stuff came out well. I have said before your work always looks so crisp. Bears repeating. I do prefer square hatch covered hoppers because I model old school. Just a quirk of mine. Maybe I will see more. (y) Have a good one.

There are some good structure builders out there but a really fine natural scene takes an artist like yourself.

A quickie from just now, and a little fun (fun is what model railroading is all about, after all! :)).

How about a new movie idea? Batman vs. the Klingons!

    IMGP4106.JPG

I have that Batmobile since I was a kid. The Klingon Bird of Prey dates from my Star Trek modeling years back in the late 80s and early 90s.

Just for those that want to nitpick on relative scale, the Klingon ship was shrunk down with a shrink ray developed by an evil mad scientist. So there!:p

Candy, beautiful scene. Please refresh my memory, did Kroger start as an IGA?

KROGER started in 1883. IGA was formed in 1926 to fight against the big stores like KROGER. So my market is so small I made it an IGA store. Well it is my railroad so I can make my own history.

Those are some great looking cars. What is the vintage of that Monon herald? I'm guessing around 1905-1910? Or maybe earlier?

I am still working out the lighting in the new location. Might take a few more tries. For now I think it looks like a storm is about to roll in.
