I enjoy Tompm's run-bye shots, so I put together an N scale version. I may have posted this several years ago, so if so, I apologize for double posting............

Great stuff again this week, starting with Russell's Northern and moving to Wolf's little slice of every day life. Hardcoaler's old school layout photo was really cool, too. Lots of nostalgia there. RJThomas posted a couple of beautifully atmosheric shots of a slow freight through nowhere and John gave us another great night shot and Rick showed us a couple of nice freight cars as usual as well as a cool layout shot. In a post COVID world, I think a visit to the Strongsville club layout will be a must. Then there are runby shots from Tom and Carl. Tom's grungy Chessie unit is just like I remember them and Carl's railroad police caboose is an interesting car I never knew existed. Then there's Candy's photo. Her modeling always sets a mood. That old storefront reminds me very much of one a few blocks from my house. Candy, I've wanted to ask- Is this a new layout or an expansion/redetailing of the old one to take it back ten years?

Too bad to lose such a fine layout, but at least you had the opportunity to start over. Anything we have seen of the new layout is at least as good or better than the old one.

I exchanged the 0.4mm cant with 0.25mm stripes. I think that's look better.

I think it is the super elevation of the track.

Kind of like on an automobile race track or even highways where the curves are banked.

Tom, it has been difficult at the club this year. Out club is housed in the basement of one of the restored buildings owned by the Strongsville Historical Society. When the governor shut down everything back in March, the Historical Society shut everything down including our club as with its small size it was hard to socially distance our selves in the building, this was especially true during op sessions. In July they relented somewhat and we are allowed to have 4 people in attendance at any one time, so all the members are on a schedule as to when they may be at the club, I am signed up for 10-2 on Saturdays.

We did manage a couple of full club meetings while the weather was nice outside to discuss club business, but the Historical Society is not re-opening to the general public until some time next year. So this year we will lose open houses at the Harvest and Christmas festivals put on by the Historical Society. We were open for the NMRA National Convention when it was held in Cleveland a few years ago.

    Philip,

Thanks for the comment. Yes sir, I added all of the grabs, hoses on each end, painted, and decaled. The only locomotive that I have gone to that much work. Just my version of a Heritage unit.

    Stay well,
    Carl

Tom, I Agree fully. I first heard this from a co-worker who spent 14 months in a North Korean prison camp. He said those were his first words as he woke up and looked out a barred slit 12 feet above. He was a delightful positive person, which I'm sure explained his mantra. Thank you.
