Not many diesels on my layouts. Jim
Here's an RS-11 serviced and waiting for its next assignment.
Just a yard shot this week.
Nothing finished this week, the Stongsville Historical Society has their Harvest Festival this weekend, and since our club is located there we will be open for viewing! I will be taking my PRR Ore Train for viewing and here are a couple of pictures of it on the layout.
Power is provided by Stewart C628 & C630 with added details like lift rings, grabs, antenna's and finished with diesel decals from Microscale. the 36 ore cars are all Stewart/Bowser G39/G39A cars with ore loads by Dan Pikulski followed by a Bowser N5 caboose.
Thanks for looking!
Looks like this came right out of a pictorial style of book.
A Gulf & Pacific heavyweight observation car pauses at the East Hannah Vista depot, 10:45 PM September 25, 1964, then another shot of the depot after the train leaves.....
And the next morning at Hannah Vista Union Station.....
I've always enjoyed being at a depot during the evening. After the train departs there comes a relaxed sensation and quiet settles in once again. This scene reminds me....
Boxcab; I'm with you 100%. Just the serene atmosphere around it is magical....a shot from the other side with a lone passenger on the platform, and the REA guy busy with the load that just came in:
Franklin, a "flag stop" on the prairie, also after the last train of the day has departed:
Although not a depot; the Hannah Vista freight depot late at night as security keeps a watchful eye out....
Nice night scenes.
I have been working on this Walther's Merchant's Row III for a while. And then some one published this photo! The first shot is my model, the second is the prototype.
Classy looking prototype building.
