I was trying to get the same angle as the prototype photo when I snapped the model but my tripod was not tall enough. :tb-hissyfit:

    Excellent stuff Russell.

I've been doing a bit of re-development on the layout after being sent a Downtown Deco kit and having nowhere to put it.

    Great photos, Russ and Jon.

Here's my contribution this week..... processed some more photos.

Some beautiful N scale modeling by German modeler Heinz-Ulrich Grumpe,
and his 1955 Linden, Indiana layout. This was one of the layouts presented
at the 1st US-themed Model RR Convention in Rodgau, Germany (near Frankfurt),
on October 6-7, 2007. Thank you again to Horst Meier and all the Europeans
who were so kind to me during my visit there, while having to layover in
Frankfurt while on a two-week business trip.

Finally got my nerve up and spilled paint on my backdrops. I wanted to buy photo backdrops with clouds but couldn't justify the price.

Couple more shots to add for everyone:

Some beautiful HO scale modeling by European modeler Uli Slovig, and his
HO scale "Daisy Town" Old West theme layout. This was one of the layouts presented
at the 1st US-themed Model RR Convention in Rodgau, Germany (near Frankfurt),
on October 6-7, 2007. Thank you again to Horst Meier and all the Europeans
who were so kind to me during my visit there, while having to layover in

I've been testing the outer oval. The grain train in the back does the first passes. I test forward and then backwards. When it can make it all the way around at a "medium" speed 3 times in a row with no derailment then I try my steamers followed by my magazine of bullets.

Left to right the noses of:
25yo Concor SP Daylight PA1, Model Power 2-6-0, Con Cor Metior, and two Kato Bullets.

To the right a 25yo Con Cor F(I think) ABBA in GN.
The Con Cor units "BBA" were un-powered. All fo the Con Cor will need serious renovation as the wheels squeek and the locomotives can be heard 20 feet away.

I can see some exceptional modelling in your images already this week. Very nice to see, everyone. The grain elevator stands out for me...I spent a lot of time on the prairies in my military career.

Nothing new this week--I've been stripping, staining, and refinishing chairs. Here we are climbing the hill to the thrid deck on the other side of the room.

Huge indeed, but why are the aisles so narrow? Just wondering . . . Some of the operators aren't exactly Light Pacifics.

    Seriously, thanks for the photos!

    Great photo, John!! Very nice.

I would love to have the privilege of operating on that huge layout in Pasadena, but what would really get me cranked up would be one night, when few others are around to claim much of the trackage, to hook up a string of heavyweights to my Duplex and set the throttle for 80 scale mph. That would be something.

I really love the sweeping curves and vistas afforded by all the space and good planning and use of it.

    Wow!
