We missed last week, so let's make it a good one Into every life a little rain must fall and here in California, we appreciate it.
A little rain must fall even on a diesel parade - literally: Roberval & Saguenay 20, RS-2 built by MLW in 1949. The rain makes this old beast look good too. Looking pretty good at age 66 back in September of 2015, at Exporail's Diesel Weekend. R&S 20 was the first road switcher built by MLW, and the first road switcher built in Canada. Also of note is how many fans showed up despite the rain. We're a dedicated lot, aren't we?
It's diesel-eletric unit, using a 525hp Caterpillar engine to turn an alternator that supplies power to traction motors on the front truck. This is a self-propelled version of the Georgetown Railroad "slot machine" continuous gondola that allows an excavator to sit on the floor of the cars and run the length of the train to unload gravel.
As of 8AM Nov. 20th Stats: 954 Views 14 Likes Coincidentally, My Birthday. I posted this one because I can't figure out *why* it is so, (for me / my channel), so popular. Any hints are welcome. Another video posted within hours got zero hits / views. Disclamer: I am *not* trying to make monetise my channel. If some how I get 1000 suscribers and 4000 hours of view, well, cool.
Yup, rain here in Washington as well... More CN power at North Auburn last week, during a "Atmospheric River" they call it! And a SB BNSF "Stinky" holding just north of Auburn...nice power, SD75m's!
We had a GREX train on campus a few weeks ago. The NS branch is getting some new ties this winter, so ballast trains and tie trains have been around lately. Your photo obscures the last digit on the locomotive road number, but ours was 6009.
Haven't posted here in a while. Need to get some more photos scanned. Meanwhile, the caboose disappearing into the distance signifies that this is the end of my photo archives from the Huckleberry.
“Deuces Wild” The Northgate Local cruises across 1899-built, 1,792-foot long Gassman Coulee Trestle west of Minot, ND at sunset.
A short NS 24Z led by 2 Dash9's and an ES44AC is bound from Harrisburg to Morrisville PA on Wednesday this week. A single autorack and a lone bare table were in the middle of the usual doublestacks. A single container bore the marker.
They had a break apart here at the east end between 9095 and 6138. They got it put back together and here the conductor is getting over the top to hook up the other side.
