Yolo shortline #1233, an 0-6-0 holds down the fort at the Woodland train Station.

She's the property of the Sacramento Valley "hysterical" Railways. which has opened the 1911 depot as a landmark as well.

This is on the SP's former West Valley line that splits off from the Oakland to Sac main at Davis and runs North to Tehama California where it merges with the East Valley line.

The west Valley line is operated by Cal Northern, Their yard is just south of the depot.

UP rebuilt a bridge on the north side of the line to maintain access for the rare occasions when the east valley line is closed.

MILW 36A on display at Deer Lodge, Montana. No. She is not known to have seen service on an Olympian Hiawatha train. Delivered only one month before that train was truncated, it is possible. I have never seen any documentation, but it would be great to learn that did happen, even if just once.

In a few minutes, this Chicago-Toronto Amtrak train will disappear into the St. Clair tunnel and emerge in Sarnia, Ont., but on this snowy evening in the 90's it's paused for a few minutes at Amtrak's Port Huron, Mi. station.

Hardcoaler, what do you know about that 1117 behind the SCL unit? It has a weathered UP look to it, although it's probably not.

The 1117 is a former L&N GP-35, originally owned by the CE&I. Quite a neat history there.
