    Nice street running!

Speaking of G & W painted locomotives, could one here tell me what's the factory paint colour of the side/aft/front walkways? The same than nose/cab/hood rooftops?

I'm asking the question because I'm currently in the process of painting one of my undec GP38-2s with a G&W's subsidiary paintscheme... ;)

There is the Teevin Bros. log yard and freight dock in west Rainier where the logs are going.

Yep, the OE express/Harbor Turn Running logs from Central Or up to Rainier. There's also the Hampton Mill online and of course Toledo.

First time I have seen someone mention Toledo in ages. Is that line actually still in west of Corvallis? I thought it was long gone.

Why would you think that? I believe the hauler is a 4 day a week operation still often, during fall and winter rain and wet leaves cause doubling the hill. That train is what usually gets the GP40/slug set. I have a picture of the power resting in Toledo on a rainy September Saturday from 2010. It's somewhere in railimages. I'll find it when I'm in front of a PC.

Huh. I know it's come up in assorted PNWR discussions here over the past recent years. Alas, the forum members who are close by-ish aren't regulars, or regular proto posters, or are steam snobs (looking at you Fitz) ;)

Most of the PNWR talk I can recall seems to be up closer to Portland.

We have a member, or had who lived closer to Albany as I recall, he was looking to build a more accurate Taglo Cascades set. He had some pictures from further south.

All of that is of course irrelevant, let's talk about it now. The Toledo line is alive and well seeing regular heavy trains. In fact, the entire west side is getting good usage except the northern part on the rex hill grade where the Sherwood trestle burned.

OK. I see what's happening. You're talking about the whole subdivision. I was just thinking of the old Corvallis to Toledo segment. Which was a forest products oriented SP branch line, and if still in use probably still is today.

Nope, Corvallis to Toledo is still active. Toledo Hauler runs out to the mill multiple times a week. I was just expanding to discuss the entire section.

Just thinking back how the timing on this was good. A few days later, this line was closed due to a forest fire. It went from the light smoke seen in background above, to being like the inside of a stinky cotton ball.
