Oy, maybe one of these days, the baby will be reasonable enough Thursday night so I can upload more photos.

Here is Amtrak Cascades F59PHI 467 leaving Portland Union enroute south for Eugene.

Actually they were using a Genesis for a switch engine to wye the cars that were pulled off the end of the Texas Eagle and were to be put on the Missouri River Runner that evening.

    Today I'm right in tune:
Acela Through a Fence with Boards Missing:

This was the best shot "burst mode" got me. Grandure Lady said it was the "most interesting" picture. Oh, and 'No' I did not remove the boards. it looks like tree removal nocked them out.
    How about this one?:

This was my first "burst mode" shot. It is one of about 14. Taken from the "Blakemore Street Bridge".

Burst mode... I've never tried it with my camera. Not sure why. I sure did use the power winder on my old 35mm SLR when shooting slides. Maybe I'll play with that option this weekend.

Ken, I don't use that mode often, but it helps when you are shooting steam to try to get a "rods down" shot.
Guess I wasn't using it on this one.

Burst mode is great for things that won't be in sight long. The down, up? side is the pictures are smaller. These are around 33% the size of single shot.

On my camera it just keeps taking shots without a flash as rapidly as it can compose and save them for as long as I hold the button down.

Cruising on by the Roseville Diesel shops and I caught UP 9900.

This is an SD59MX First in the number series. Lagrange (literally) fitted an experimental Tier 4 EGR exhaust system. They did the same to an SD70ACe. I've heard rumors that the ACe has had it removed, but not so for the 59MX.

Given the Air quality here in Roseville the past week, I'm all for this.

Job 13 was in Notch 8 pushing 100 loaded ADM hopper cars to the UP Interchange tracks(track 630) near Fairfax, IA. Job 14 pulled the first half mile while Job 13 pushed on the rear. Then 14 cut off near the interchange tracks while 13 was in Notch 8. They were going about 5-mph.

Eventually they'll run out of places to create new bulges and flares. It'll take a while getting used to seeing this style. Looks like someone put the hood together wrong.

Today's find was an un-patched SP hiding behind the sage brush in the Grand Junction yard.

How many unpatched SP units survive right now?

Horrible shot, but thankfully the railfan Jeep was topless and doorless when I managed to grab this shot.

NS is southbound on the old Wabash line, crossing over the former IC, now Monticello Railroad Museum line. The train had three units and a string of empty gons. I wish I could show you the picture of the Museum's Southern Steam Locomotive #401, switching out modern tank cars and setting them out for NS. It was a cool picture, unfortunately when this was taking place, I was in domestic mode and without a camera. By the time I came back in Railfan mode, both the tank cars and the 401 were gone.

I am not sure, but I know that they are a rare site around here. Does anyone happen to know how many survivors are left?

I'll see if I can find it in the loconotes archive. It came up a few weeks ago.
