Mr. Train's Steam I don't have as many photos as some, but some how it just had to be STEAM!! The 261 is bringing up the rear "Rail faning 2006"
I took this image in the late summer of 2007 across the river, via the old Alexandra Bridge, from the Alexandra Park beside the Trans-Canada highway in the Fraser Canyon.
It's hard to tell whether I should go through my old photos or just give up. Nice entries so far!!:thumbs_up::thumbs_up::thumbs_up:
A C.P. Rail van at Havelock, Ontario's CP yard...... .......on a perfect railfanning day..........................
From summer 2005: This shot of an eastbound UP stack train charging up Archer Hill east of Cheyenne, WY, en route to North Platte.
I have to say this one..... So hard to catch a meet here. Cruzatte, Oregon 2001 Union Pacific EDRV waits on the main for a Portland bound "pig train".
D&SNG 486 Man this was harder than I thought. I guess I will use this early morning picture taken of D&SNG 486. Ben
BNSF Christmas Express Yowza, how do I choose?!? [edit: I changed my mind on my favorite shot--there's just too many favs to choose from, but I like this one a lot, so why not?] BNSF Christmas train crosses the Missouri, as the GN and MILW depot steeples look on, on 10 Dec 08 at 8:45 PM. 60-sec time exposure--the windows on all the stainless steel passenger cars were decked out with rope lights, making a spectacular smear job for the camera!
Yipes! tough choices. But, this is my favorite photo of my favorite engine (she's a Mikado type too). Southern Railway 2-8-2 #4501, Louisville, Ky. 1969.
One of a couple of my favorites. Rio Grande GP60 #3155 on the point of a southbound freight train at Palmer Lake, Co. Fathers Day 2004 or 2005. This image has since been converted to a placemat, by Joe at Toltec Images in Louisville, Co!
I don't get much opportunity to photograph the real thing but, I did pace a UP train of welded rail a couple years ago driving on I-10 in Arizona.
I made a post with this the other day, so why not do it again? A coal train going "Down Main Street" in West Brownsville, PA on NS' Mon sub.
