Fasure, fun to see the variety of rail maintenance equipment. I happened to be at the right place at the right time to get the ballast train. I ride the Minneapolis Commuter Bike Trail a lot and whenever I see a headlight or a signal that portends activity I stop and pull out the camera. I snapped the train as it went by at 40+ mph and the framing of the last car was nearly perfect. Pure luck. A few days before I missed by seconds a work train consisting of dump truck pulling several gondolas with a caboose on the end. I wonder if the hi-rail equipped vehicles operate the car's air brakes? Do the drivers have to be certified engineers? Nancy
