Lets see some Union Pacific models this week! :D

New photos are highly encouraged. One photo per member.

"Times up" will be posted next Monday so don't wait until the last minute. After the times up I'll post the poll for everyone on TrainBoard to choose their favorite image.

    Best of luck!

I took this image only four days ago, so it is 'new'.

As I explained elsewhere, the foreground to the rails in this image, including the train and bridge, and a narrow band representing about 40' beyond the tracks are on a new diorama I erected in the past three weeks. Starting just 'below' the tall grass you see off the pilot of the steamer is real landscape. The mountains and sky are real and were imaged at the same time as the model since I had it propped up on a small table across the road from the fence and tall grass. All I have done was to crop the 'fuzzy' border that Combine ZP leaves after it has stacked a number of images. I had to stack four since the model was 18" away from the lens while the far mountains are 40 km away. Model imposed over real scenery overlooking a potato farm in the low invisible ground beyond the closer trees (the green shed is a storage shed on the farm), and beyond in the distance is the Beaufort Range and the Comox Glacier.

UP is rare in Hill City, but I did manage to find an old, faded photo, surely a one-of-a-kind, showing DM&IR #506 pulling a UP stock car...

This photo is really old. It is a Concor remotored with a Sagami motor, then painted and decaled with wire handrails. Of course this was before Atlas came out with their model and made this unnecessary.

Aw, thanks. But I think you still have the advantage and the contest is still wide open for other entries.

Besides, HO always beats N - right? :tb-tongue::tb-wink:

Yup! The cars are Wheels of Time, and are based on actual OWR&N prototypes lettered for UP.

Like always, there are some tough choices to make, even with the option to choose multiple photos.

Thanks, Bruce. I felt the same way about yours, and would have been perfectly happy either way. My hat is lifted to you.
