We promised, many changes. 1) Avatars: You can now upload your own. There are no stock avatars to choose from. That is why no one has an avatar (except prior supporters). The old stock avatars can be found in this album. Download one to your desktop, then upload it (if you want a railroad logo as an avatar). Alternately, take a selfie and upload it so we can see how ugly you are. 2) Problems. If you see a problem, please ask a question or report it. We will try to answer. Bear in mind that not all the staff members will have answers at the outset as not all of them know about every change. 3) Changes: Blogs and TrainBoard Groups are not here now. We are not saying that they won't return but they are not here now. Bear with... I know that things are different and there will be more changes. The Internet changes and for the last couple of years TrainBoard has been stagnant. We recognize that. We have a great staff and we are going to offer some of you folks an opportunity to join the staff soon. It is important that we change and meet the needs of our members. We are going to change some of our rules, etc. as well. Bear with us as we move through this transitional period. We are working to bring you a better TrainBoard. Charlie
Where are the settings? See attached screenshot. Just moue over your username in the green bar (you do not have to click). The box will all of the links for options will appear. Charlie
I did all that.....was in process when you posted. Hovering shows me all sorts of things, but no theme changes, no colour changes. I am, honestly, having a Devil of a time determining whether or not there is a line around this box I am typing into. Maybe...maybe not. Just have to get my eyes used to it. Maybe MS has an audio cue...I'll go look. Glad yer back.
I would have thought "preferences", but not there. Still looking. XenForo has themes..just have to find where they are hid.
Another issue, old links. We are going to install a redirect script in a few days that will cause clicks to links in posts to be redirected to their new location. Bear with us on that one...
Okay, I'll quit looking! I do have a new monitor...and went through the nvidia driver setup, so I know the colours are right. Of course, the monitor gives me a headache anyway...it's 24" across. Ken, you may be right. I'm trying different glasses...there is something there. Sort of like..you can see it if you don't look right at it. Once I am used to where things go, I'll just start typing!
I like the new board layout but I am having difficulty adjusting to this theme. It is hard for me to pick up on the light blue line that separates posts and the additional dotted blue line that i think separates the signature from the body of a post.
Right now we are running on some basic settings. There will be adjustments coming, as Charlie's time allows.
Hi Charlie, thanks, I like the new format. However (you knew that was coming...LOL), Cattle Car didn't open even though the URL showed in the bottom left when the cursor was rested on the Title. Is this a known, or just at my end? Edit, I was required to log in before I could post the above even though I had already logged in. Not a complaint, just identifying a potential hiccup.
I don't do tapatalk but it does look great on a phone when viewed in a regular browser. Keep up the good work.
