Ash, remember when all MRRs had to have a barn with "chew Mail Pouch tobacco" on the roof ?!!! And what ever became of that two-stall Revell brick engine house ?
Yeah I do rembember seeing those barns, Mark! Up in Pennsylvania the barns had big icons painted on the ends to warn off evil spirits, (I think). I still have the engine house, but it goes up on the side of the logging camp cliff, so wont be installed yet for awhile.

At my last op session my command station went down. I've send it for repair. No chance for running a train. But a chance for working with scenery. One segment of my Harbor District needed ballast. With the first glue for the ballast I worked with scenery. Switch motors and some weeds. More pictures at my blog . Wolfgang
Wolfgang - I had to chuckle a little when I looked at the picture with the woman on the billboard - the X of the railroad crossing sign seems to be strategically placed! I need to find out more about your manual turnout controls. MarkInLA - My dad's old Mail Pouch barn is in a box in the garage along with his 2-stall Revell engine house - those were very popular. I'm getting ready to build a barn in N - the Mail Pouch decal is going on the side instead of the roof. Just seems that a layout isn't complete without Mail Pouch being advertised somewhere.

wolfie, I have that exact same model. Only mine is still shiny and new. How did you get such nice weathering done on yours?
This one weathered my friend Peter. He "poured out his bucket with dirt over this engine". His words! :angel: He used mainly chalks and Dullcote, but also some felt tip pens. And the airbrush of course. Wolfgang
I've installed my very needed turnout. It's the most east turnout of Westport. It's the connection from engine terminal to the east end of the yard. At this map, this turnout is still missing. The idea cam from my son Benjamin. And here you see the installed turnout, an aerial view. This turnout got the manual device like the other manual thrown turnouts at Westport.
These pictures show the switch, the brass tube and the "handle". The lever from the switch gives the end position of the tube. This way I get the points aligned. Wolfgang
Wolfgang, I'm guessing that with the toggle switch attached to the throw rod that you get a positive click when throwing the turnout. I'm looking for a better way to manually throw my power routing turnouts - thanks for the photos.
Really nice, Wolfgang. A very good idea you have to locate the switch at the fascia instead of under the turnout. It makes the maintenance much easier.
