    Excellent post John,I never noticed the offset bolster on the m/t trucks.Would you know what other m/t cars/trucks have this bolster offset?Also,how much material do you re-move off the bolster itself?
    I'm tempted to get started on some right now lol.

    I thought all MT trucks had this slight offset in the part that connects the two truck frame sides?

    depends on what you have to swap - NS or C&NW yes...anything else....no it has it's place in the rosters.

    I don't know what other MT cars/trucks have the offset.... I guess we'd have to go the LHS and look.

    Re: your question about how much bolster material had to be removed - I don't have any before pictures to compare with - but it was quite a lot.

    Maybe someone with a stock MT Hi-Cube boxcar can take a side picture of their frame, and we'd be able to compare that with my photos above.

    Good luck! It wasn't hard to do.... just took a little bit of time as it wsa the first one I'd ever done. I'd think doing another one would be a bit faster now that I know what I did the first time.
