No pictures but in the last few months I picked up a NIB Kato EL SD45 and PA, a CNW SD40-2 (falcon Service), 2 U30C's (RI and UP), GS4 4449, and a Life like BN GP38-2. Eventualy the U30C's will be come U33C's (EL or BN) and the CNW SD40-2 might become a BN SD40-2 unless I can trade for one.

I used Microscale Decals, but there's a kicker with it. If I remember correctly, the early UP engine from Kato didn't have the black outline around the road numbers or lettering. The Microscale decals do. I ended up changing everything to make it look right.

91% alcohol will take the numbers and lettering off fairly easily. Apply with a cotton cloth and lightly rub until the top printing comes off. Check periodically to make sure you not rubbing to hard and removing the underlying paint.

No pic (yet) but I bought a Model Power Light Mike (undecorated) that I'm really pleased with. It was 50% off, I paid less than $80 for it from Walthers.

    Thanks Brian! :)

I have some Micro scale union pacific decals and the number seem smaller too. Is that so with the ones you used on your locomotive? If that is so I'll definitely wipe these numbers clean and use the decals I have in my possession.

I've just bought my first SD70M can't wait to get it in hand. I'll use it in a lash with a SD70ACE and AC4400CW. Yup! I like to mix and match locos.

I didn't really notice, but I didn't look that hard either. Just wiped clean and started applying.... :) Microscale is normally pretty good with their dimensions, not so with Kato at times. Their thing is the silky smooth mechanism, so I forgive them with minor paint issues from time to time... ;)

Yeah these two... were purchased off ebay as a PC SD35 and an L&N GP9... both were rebuilt and repainted into ICG colors. (6071 is the 'first' SD40...former EMD demonstrator unit acquired through the GM&O merger - the prototype was recently preserved at Monticello Railway Museum in IL)

This thread has been doing pretty well! We just need some more pictures or video!

Here's my newest addition.. I figured my heritage unit needed a friend!

I love this thread.. want to see more..

Two recent additions for me are Kato's SD70ACe UP1988 and Fox Valley's CSX Gevo

The Kato has been super detailed with BLMA parts, the FVM detailed with the supplied parts.

I've been working on building a long Santa Fe freight consist to run on our club layout. I'm going to pull it with a lashup of SD40s and SD40-2s in the yellow bonnett scheme:

    I have recently aquired three SD40s (#'s 5001, 5003 and 5010) and 2 SD40-2's (#'s 5053 and 5073). I may go ahead and get 1 more SD40-2 when KATO releases #5058 later this year or early next.

I've got digitrax decoders installed in all but one SD40 and that's on order.

I was tempted to get the 1988 yesterday.. I really like how the UP Flag units look though!

I think my next heritage unit will be the Rio Grande.

What I need to do is get some indoor photo lights so I don't have to take stuff outside to photograph it. I live in an apartment complex with little kids with grabby hands.
I could probably spend a good two days photographing everything I have. Of course, then I'd have to work on my layout! lol
