BLI SW7. Loving the rumbling diesel sound.

Nice looking unit but is it from the Pinocchio family.

That headlight looks way longer than it should be.

    Still a great looking unit.

Regarding the SW7, spookshow has more details on it but I agree for the most part.
    1) The heft is noticeable. It definitely is an engineering marvel that they fit everything in there
    2) The bottom of the tank is perforated and you can clearly see the speaker. So by "rumbling" I was referring to the distinct sound of the engine but it definitely is loud!
    3) agree about the Pinocchio headlight, the NW2 looks much better in that regard. Not bright at all. Overall the BLI's light quality is horrible compared to Kato.
    4) It couldn't pull as well as my SD70. I could hear some wheel slip along my grades. But it's still a decent puller, supersmooth. The CV2 startup voltage was dead on (one tie at a time right at speed 1) so didn't have to reprogram anything yet.

Well got the deal of a lifetime! Well my lifetime so far.
Seen a Kato lot on the feebay which had the Hiawatha 9 car set, 3 complete ABA consists of Milwaukee road f-7's, and a set of Atlantic Coast lines AB set and 2 E-5'silver bullet locos and 3 microtrain cars. The starting price was 100$ or best offer, I sent 300$ offer and was acceptedSo 329$ shipped and just got it today and just went through everything and it's all brand new. So that's what I got new today. Probably never happen again! 13 Kato locos and a Hiawatha set and 3 cars for 330$

Just received 3 Northern Pacific paired window coaches in the Mainstreeter pine tree scheme. Goes well with the 3 sleepers I got in the same scheme. These are MicroTrains special runs offerred through Lowell Smith.

It's sometimes hard to know. Small orders seem to take forever getting done. Am eagerly awaiting the observation car tho!

I've been trying to fill out my UP rooster from the '40's into the mid '70's and the GE U50 has been a hard one to find, especially at a reasonable price. I bought one that is a Chessie and another that is a Conrail, neither that ever actually existed. My plan was to repaint them in UP colors but knew that would be daunting.

Then the other day the one above came up for sale and I paid a little more than I wanted but bought it and got it today. Runs well out of the box and is in great shape. I ran it through one of my hand-laid 3 way turnouts with no problems and that was a relief as I had read that the free-floating trucks like to derail.

As luck would have it a U50 Southern Pacific shell only came up the other day and got it for $30. The plan is to put it on either the Chessie or Conrail frame and then maybe sell the one that is left over but I have a hard time ever selling things once I have them :(. When I was living in southern Wyoming in the 60's and 70's I'd see a lot of Southern Pacific engines running with UP engines so I've picked up a few of those to mix in with the UP engines. I was glad to find the SP shell and SP did actually have 3 U50's I believe.

Picked up 8 Craftsman building kits. Plus 10 Dimi-Trains car kits. Everything is N scale. Should keep me busy for awhile.

Had my second biz trip in a week where I got off the plane to a phone call saying my meeting had been cancelled. Last week in Chicago, this week in MSP. In Chicago, I got the message in the airport, so I never left, but didn't see it until after I rented a car on Monday, so I checked out Scale Model Supply in St. Paul. As a full price shop, they have a lot of stock. Anyway, I missed the MT weathered TTX bulkhead flats, despite going online to several shops when they first came out. SMS had one, so I bought it. Full retail, but tbh, every dealer who has the "hot" new MT weather and graffiti releases was selling them at retail, too, so it was a relief to get one, a "much needed" or wanted item and it felt like a "score" to me.
