Good memories! I had one of those on my first N scale layout.

Possibly to power my new high speed train kit that just arrived or for future projects.

Well back from the Hobby Shop. Picked up a "backup" MRC 1370 power pack and a Kato Santa Fe El Capitan High Level and Baggage car pack.

Some of you may already know I’m not a huge fan of sound locomotives, but instead prefer the ambient sounds of the world around the layout. Well I had to break my own rules today, it was just too pretty to pass up, and I liked the lighting features that come with the decoder that is already installed. Here is my new Bachmann Amtrak SC-44 Charger painted for WSDOT’s Cascades.

I haven’t gotten the chance to get it on the rails yet, I will get to do that next weekend at the Puyallup show.

I have to admit that sound is impressive and sometimes, I am tempted but I have found that, when I have operated layouts with locomotives with sound, it gets a bit annoying after a while.

I've read nothing but positive comments about the Bachmann SC-44. Great sound, great lighting effects, slow and smooth speed. A complete 180 from the usual Bachmann offerings.

Let's hope Bachmann has turned a new page!

This is the reason I bought one. When I did HO scale, I really liked the Bachmann Spectrum line, those were some really nice engines in both steam and diesel but I have yet to see much in the way of good in N scale till this engine. I heard the 3rd generation Class J was good, but I have yet to put my hands on one.

I got enough Kapton tape to fully insulate every model locomotive in a hundred-mile radius. But hey, it was cheap! :ROFLMAO:

My latest purchase? A new set of eye glasses that my eye doctor says will keep my corrected vision at 20/15 which should keep me in N scale for hopefully a long time. Not bad I guess for someone about to turn 65.

    Silver/galvanized MTL C&O boxcar

Then, pivoting toward layout construction, structure & rolling stock aging:

    Pastel earth tone chalks,
    Raw umber oil paint tube
    Dullcote
    Black paint
    Yellow paint

IT’S HERE!! I have been wanting this train since I got into N scale and it’s always been out of reach. I finally got the funds when the prices were what I was willing to pay. Best day ever! It even came with the bag and re-railer. I would have to look again, but it may have even come in the box from Kato. I can’t wait to get this on the rails!

Better… Neon Genesis Evangelion. It’s a very popular anime and one of my favorites.

Forget the train, I want the shopping bag! :ROFLMAO: I would look so cool walking around train shows with it on my arm. You know, sort of like a Louis Vitton bag!

I forgot to get the pics of my other goodies. I bought the DPM/Woodland Scenics building set that’s basically about all the DPM models in a single box. Good for many, many hours of painting and building fun!

I’m also guilty… is guilty the right word? For buying another Japanese train. This time it’s a Tomix Hello Kitty Haruka set. This is one of 3 different Hello Kitty themed trains. Yes these were real at one time, and I have a second one also ordered, I’m just waiting on it arriving. I will be getting the 3rd train here soon too.

    Here is the box.

    Yes for both.

    Eva Type 500

    Hello Kitty Haruka

The Japanese have way more fun with their trains than we do.

Ohhhh! I LIKE this Hello Kitty one! The other Hello Kitty Kato one was "too pink". :D

Man, the Japanese sure love their trains, real and model! (y)
