LMAO.... No gun...no mask. The lot of used unitrack was on TrainStore here on TB for a couple few weeks back a few month ago. I was sure it was gone but contacted the seller anyways. It was stilll all available so I hit the CFO (T.H.E. WIFE) up for an advance on my train allowance and scooped it up. :tb-cool: The turnouts and Xover I got from a friend on another forum. Once again used...but used unitrack is dang near as good used as it was when new. The Xover needed some TLC but works fine now. So now I am a Unitrack Convert. Who'ld a thunk it...lol
My latest purchase came outta no where. Me, my wife and daughter went to Daytona Beach last November for a short vacation. They wanted to goto a local thrift store, and while I was looking around I spotted a table with some N-Scale rolling stock. I have never had any luck at thrift stores finding MRR items. Well today was my lucky day. There on that table were 150 Atlas and MTL rolling stock. All new and unused for $5.99 each. Talked to the manager on duty and got them all for $3.00 each.
Great find. If there were a 150 pieces of rolling stock, you have to wonder what happened to the engines?
Latest purchases were the Kato BN Bicentennial U30C and the first two cars for the Lowell Smith American Freedom Train. Got the DCC decoder for the locomotive today. Just gotta get it installed. Looking to get the Kato AFT GS4, from a TB member selling one. Then, need to check on DCC/Sound for said unit!
Yesterday at the train show, got a Amtrak Superliner from member Kevin M, also got some UP chapstick from the OLS table he was at. Got 2 MT cars from a dealer, and BN 1991 custom painted. Gave the painted a SD40-2 to paint into BN 1876, to match 1776, and eventually pull the AFT. UP chapstick BN 1991 Also got a copy of Steam to Spokane, SP&S 700, and met with Neivo, another member on here
Be careful! Now that you have got it painted, a mfg is SURE to come out with one already done now. LOL
Oh I know...but then again, the loco has been out since 1991...pretty sure if Atlas was gonna do it, they'd have done it by now. Probably same thing with Kato and the SD40-2 in 1876
Nice looking engine, what table did you pick that up from? The show is pretty disappointing for us N-scalers, but the son loves to see the layouts set up. Nice meeting you as well!
John's, he does custom painting, had a selection of Kato and Atlas units he's painted, most are SP&S and NP. Was in the first room, on the left side.
I picked up a CC 2-10-2 which will soon be bashed into another SP F-4 as well as a three pack of MT Pacific Fruit Express Reefers.
Micro-Trains 'Special Edition' Santa Fe Vintage Locomotive and Caboose. It is a Model Power 4-4-0 American (with MT couplers) and a 51000 series wood side caboose. The engine actually runs well given the bad press its had over the last few years.
Had a good tax refund this year Ordered for my son (and will likely hold some for holidays): Henry & 3 passenger cars Percy & 3 mail cars 2x generic european 2 axle freight cars (to go with his Thomas freight cars he already has) Ordered for me: 2x Kato CP ES44AC (Yes... CP does not run on the area I'm modelling... but CN locos are hard to find and expensive... so I'm going to protolance it so I can run a mix of CP/CN/CSX ) 3x Athearn CSX SD70M (got a good deal... so yes.. 3 ) 1x Atlas VTR GP20 (for a local shortline I plan on modelling) 1x FVM CN ES44DC (nice loco... kinda loud and not 100% keen on the railing paint job... but Matt was nice enough to send me a unpainted set so kudos to him!)
