I’d be happy to vote, but can you post color chips or pictures of the locomotives in those colors?

I agree with Dale, color samples and/or photos would help us choose.

    Era?

If you are modeling the 1940's-1960's, WAB blue.

If you are modeling the 1970's until now, MRL blue.

Blue paint fades horribly, older blue paints were much darker (B&O, WAB, MP, N&W, C&O, etc). More modern paints have more stable pigments and allow brighter blues (ROCK, CR, MRL, B&M, etc.)

I always remember the GN BSB and how it did not fare very well.

Wabash had two blues, one the early one that came with the F units as pictured. Later when repainted in the solid blue paint scheme the blue was a lot lighter. Scalecoat II makes the later version of the blue paint, for the older version it must be mixed with black to darken it.

This is the solid blue paint scheme.

I admit to being somewhat of a traditionalist, hence my choice. Difficult to choose though.

So far the Wabash blue is leading by big numbers

    as I should have stated

    Fall of 1979

    Loosely based on the BN/DRGW/RI/SLSF

Picture I wanted to post was the Wabash early F unit scheme

    Couldn't find a decent photo

That's why I'm going with a darker blue

Agree the BSB was almost as bad as RI bankruptcy blue

Vince, I tried Tru-Color paint and could not even get it to spray, so it went into the crapper along with acrylics.
