Probably a better list is who isn't planning to buy it and why? Dane and I will buy it, but there is nothing Canadian on it. Now if they had CP or CN through the Fraser Canyon, they'd definitely have my attention.

Jim, you won't have to save your money for the MS product. From what I've been reading and hearing it'll be a cold day in Hades before any part of the Union Pacific appears in MS simulation. Uncle Pete is really squaring off at MicroSoft over this. After the CSXT runaway today, if a "gamer" was involved, look for MS to have second thoughts about the entire program. Jim Bromley did make a couple of valid points about safety.

No gamer involved... Just a engineer with a heart attack.

When the train was finally stopped, there was no one on board. The engineer was 66 miles back in the yard where the runaway started. The CSX spokesperson said that the engineer "was nearby" when the train started on its own.

I hope we hear what really happened here on the TB. I doubt we hear anything "official" or factual from either CSX or the media.

Here in Melbourne the news said that the engineer got out for something, and forgot the brake or the brake 'failed'...

sounds more like a woman driver to me..

You really know how to live dangerously! :D

Edit: BTW, I will not be buying Trainsim, I just do not have the time, and if I do have any, I will spend it on my model railroad [IMG]

I have to agree with you Alan, I'd love to buy the program but would never find time to use it or something would suffer either my layout or my participation here at Trainboard

Already pre-ordered it from Amazon. Supposed to be here June 6. Fat chance. Now all I have to do is get my butt in gear and pick up a new computer that will be able to run it. This old PII 266 just won't do it.

The only computer game that I have ever bought to date was FlightSim. However, I have pre-ordered TrainSim and hope that my skills as an engineer far exceed my piloting skills.......The World's airports are littered with the wreckage from my attempts to fly
    Best wishes,
    John.

Its June 3rd, the realease is supposidly tomorrow, so if any of you have gotten this programme yet, please comment!!!! I listened to the sounds of the GP38-2 (BNSF) of the site and it sounded awesome. The pics look pretty good. Can't wait to get that Acela moving along Marias Pass [IMG] I am very curious to find out how hard it will be to stop the passenger trains in time for a station stop.

BTW- Any of you know how you can tell when a station stop is coming (in the NEC)

    Happy Railroading! [IMG]

You might want to take a look at the TrainMaster 4.0 simulator at
Signal Computer Consultant's website. They include 75+ miles of UP's Denver Sub, and they could build additional lines in the future. A demo of the program can be downloaded from the site, so you can test drive it to see if it suits you.

As a side note, Signal also sells the Train Dispatcher Simulator, and supplies Automatic Equipment Identification supplies and services to commercial rail customers.

Bought my copy yesterday, no one's seen me since... Wish they had a Niagara, or even a Consolidation. Went to MS/games/trainsim, e-mailed a guy who builds trains for these pgms. Mostly I think all they do is re-paint the skin.
I like the pgm a lot!
