I acquired a Williams O gauge FM Trainmaster dummy unit about fives years ago. It has been in the box for four years now and has a few problems that include a broken truck, broken truck side, and rusted wheels. Is there a place that I can acquire parts for it, and would it be cost worthy to convert it to power? Also, is it possible to convert it to 2 rail?

Thanks, and sorry for the noob questions.

The answer is yes but the question is to what? As in what manufacturer do we need to turn to resolve this problem. Me needs to think on this a minute or two.

Busy day ahead. I will try to get back to you before the weekend is over. Perhaps other knowledgeable types can jump in here with their advice.

Thanks a lot for the help. I’m thanking about using Atlas Alco C-628 2 rail trucks for the conversion. Any thoughts on this?

The wheel spacing maybe pretty close. There was an article a few yrs back about converting one to 2-rail. The Atlas trucks would certainly be easier than the wheel and axle replacement done in the article. You may have to add a shim between the steps and the frame to keep the steps at the right height. I'll have to check which issue it was that had the article and which of the O scale magazines it was. I like your Atlas idea. The next question I have is how the side frames are attached to the Atlas power trucks. I have a Williams powered TM and IIRC the truck side frames mount on top of the power truck. Have you acquired the Atlas trucks? Sounds like a good project too.
