    Union Pacific (and probably other US railroads) do have wind limits in the mid-west and the western passes. I think it is 60-70 miles per hour for some types of cars. I have never heard of tank cars being affected, though. Australia might have that, too.

    More likely is that the unilevels were blown off and everything else simply derailed with them...

    Wait...a train problem in Ohio the DIDN'T involve CSX? Someone call JXNVILLE and let 'em know that NS is trying to horn in on their turf. They'll have to send at least three trains out-minus the engineers-to keep up their stellar reputation...

    The wind could have nailed everything...we lost two cooling towers at the local power plant in the same storm line. Gusts here were over 60 MPH..and I mean GUSTS. They came out of what had been blue sky a half hour prior.
