I know that all of us at one time or another have lost window glazing for a certain locomoive or have gotten a building kit that didn't come with window glazing. Well, I have stumbled upon a GREAT product! For instance, one of my detail parts is the spartan cab door. To add window glazing, all I do is take a tooth pic with some "Solarez" on it and fill in the center. Here is the site: http://www.solarez.com/ This stuff cures TOTALLY clear in 3 minutes in the sun light! I love it! I am just posting this because this is one product that has unlimited uses around the layout. Also, it's not to expensive! Take care every one! ------------------ Craig Martyn Best Looking Models Around Custom detailing AND N scale detail parts. BLMA N Scale Detail Parts BLMAinfo@aol.com

quote:
Originally posted by tunnel88: Is it somewhat similar to Kristal Klear when it's cured/dry?

I'm not sure. Solarez dries perfectly clear and in only 3 minutes. That is why I am using it. I have seen some windows with Micro Scales stuff and it looked a bit foggy, but maybe it was just me. ------------------ Craig Martyn Best Looking Models Around Custom detailing AND N scale detail parts. Hi Gats, I know what you mean, but can't remember it. Tried to use it making a headlight in HO, never was successful. I put some on a toothpick, and ran the toothpick around the headlight, but could never get a web across the headlight. Now I'v got a friend, who uses a home made punch on a drill press, makes a dozen headlights in 30 sec. ------------------ When in doubt, empty your magazine. Member #33

What is your friend using for the headlights? Clear acetate? Gary. ------------------ Gary A. Rose The Unofficial TC&W page TrainBoard Moderator and Member No.377 N to the Nth degree!
Actually, I learned a really neat trick about headlights the other day. I put ditch lights on all of my locomotives that fit that time periode. As we all know, it's almost impossible to light them. What I have been doing up until now is just painting the ditch light light area (indented section) silver with some very bright silver paint. The other day, just for a change I took some of my Solarez and put a drop on each ditch light of a locomotive (after the silver paint was on). I came back when the Solarez was dry and just like I thought, the clear resin had magnified the silver and now it is MUCH, MUCH birghter.
