Inspired by EMDTrainman's Video section, I thought I'd start my own to avoid hijacking a thread. Still tinkering with my digital camera and hosted on my significant other's youtube account.

DragonfyreGT, I thought I would try to put the link in for you as a movie so you can watch it here. When you copy, leave the http:// part off of the link you are trying to copy and your video will embed on the thread like this.

Nice video, basments as you see are hard to video, even when they have lights on. I noticed myself the camera brings out the lighting better with flourecent lights which is why most of my video making is in my "Yards" room. I'm going to try those portable 1000 watt halogen work lights next and see how those work out.

Something happened in the second video post, I tried to play it and it came up embeding disabled by request. You can get your own you tube account for free by the way.

We mostly use the same account sometimes, and I'll have her fix that video link. Right Now Wolfcreek is decimated by floods. Tree branch came down last night and ripped off the sump pumps hose. Then this afternoon a second branch came down and knocked out power to the nieghborhood. within seconds the pump failed and the basement level was flooded. I rescued the equipment and the track and buildings are drying out, but my transformer's power supply is fried. I'm currently salvaging an old Xbox 360 Power supply and an old Antec PC 750Watt Power supply to rig up to my transformer. It can't die yet, I'm not finacially prepared for my train engineer set yet. But I'm fairly sure the Antec PC Power supply will work as a replacment. The only draw back is, my transformer will no longer provide power to the HO and N sections. only G. so that knob will be useless. everything else should work.

EDIT: Second video has had the embedding disable removed. It works now.

Wow, sorry to hear about the iron Mountain and Wolfcreek flood. Do you live near a river or something? How deep did the water get in the basement? If it got real deep you could have horrible trouble with fungus growth in the future and that is not a pretty sight.

The house I live in went pretty much thru the same thing way before I bought it and it was my parents, so I know the history well. The basement use to flood quite a bit, about 2 to 4 inches of water which is alot considering the size of the house. Then came the termite problem due to wood that was wet and dried several time and no barrier between the paneling and brick wall. My Dad at that time go a contractor in to find out what he could do, a french drain system with a sump pump was recommended, of course this was a expensive deal. He couldn't afford it at the time, so flooding went on in heavy rains.

I bought the house in 1999 and ripped all of the walls out, called in a termite company and got arid of those pests. I was lucky at the time, the fungus only grew on the paneling and didn't get on the walls or under flooring. The termites also did not get any further than the basment area. I got another person i knew as a contractor to look at the basement. The back corner of the house was not being drained properly away from the house. So a extension was added on the the drain from that gutter. Then it was recommended to paint all of the cement cinder block work with a product called loc tite which makes the brick work 100% water proof, there was a demo in the store and I was impressed. To date, there has been no floods which is why I want to move on with the basement

Nope don't live near a river, it was about 3 inches of water, had to pull up the vinyl flooring and let it dry underneath. be about a month or so before it gets fixed. There isn't a lot of permanent damage. A backup generator was hooking into the sump pump directly and the water sucked it's way out the way it came in. It was so fast that damage isn't an issue. The plywood underneath needs to be renailed down but that was a problem when I set it in before, I didn't space the nails right and it was popping back up. I used a shop vac to suck up the remaining water, but the plywood needs to be put down again right before the vinyl goes back down. I'm also considering making a small raised table, about 2 feet off the ground for the moment so the dog isn't constantly attracting hair around my layout.

Floors are dried out, and I need to drill new holes for the plywood. spacing needs to be about ever 2 feet + one masonry nail in the middle. the boards are glued down with liquid nails and I coat each masonry nail in liquid nails. Nothing done yet as I just got hit with a lovely flu virus. Oh Joy heh. State Farm has had so much flood damage claims their cutting everyone the maximum amount the policy will alow check wise.

Trying a new Camera Angle, so please forgive the darkness. I have Natural light + 2 overhead lamps on my layout. The thing about my FB-1 is the color matches the FA-1 in Natural Light only. That's why I did the Pistol Stripe to take focus off that. Anyways, Here's 5406 Taking a few laps around the layout, and 2022 and 2072 on standard Freight duty with a Wolfcreek Local:

Forgive the low light situation, as soon as I figure this out, I'll reshoot these movies. They looked so much brighter on my Digital Camera. I'm going to try a couple things light LED Station Lighting on my waiting platform which is something I've desperatly wanted. See I love to just run my trains at night with the lights off but it looks bizarre without lighting at the station. So that's my big project for 2009 is solving my lighting issues.
