    Well, this site has some photos of wood grain elevators from October 2008 from Alberta Canada. So I would think it is plausable. Funny, I was wondering aobut this sort of thing about Minnesota :) The only ones I have seen myself are no longer rail served and in operation (Royalton Minnesota comes to mind near Saint Cloud Minnesota).

    I found this BNSF Grain Elevator Directory. Pretty cool site. It looks like they have several hundred of them listed, most with pictures.

    Still standing? Yes. In service, that is another question. I believe a very few, scattered around. Most are newer or updated.
