    Hi Keith.
    Thanks for posting.

For the effect of bricks, first glue a piece of paper with the printed pattern of the bricks.
After pasting up the paper coating and will carefully break, leaving visible bricks.
Paint the entire set with black wash.

    Regards

I believe that is the most realistic model rust that I've ever seen. The colors and texture are unsurpassed by any other. How long have you been modeling?

I'm in the modeling world since I was 11 or 12... and now I'm close to 51.
I use many techniques from my own. And others techniques are self developed from the common user tips.
For rust, I use acrilic colours more or less diluted in water and/or alcohol. Mainly browns, reds and black.
To give 3d rust effect, you can put a small drop of paint, let dry a few minutes and before are completed dried,
breack this drop with the brush and spread. Then dry paintbrush with a contrast colour. Repeat this so many times until you get the desired look.
