May be a dumb question, but did tower searchlights you see for sale with either two or four lights really exist? If not how did railroads light the yard at night?

    Thanks,

[IMG] This might be what your looking for http://www.njinternational.com/railroad.htm
I think they offer them in N and HO. Also BRAWA carries some nice looking one in N
pn 186-4551 for a single and 186-4552 for a double lite. MINATRONICS CORP carries a single and double in N, 475-7261801,475-7262801. Hope this helps.

    HAHA, I like that Bob.

Thanks for the link, but I want to know if these things were/are really used in prototype railroad yards.

I thought you might like that. It's a "blast from the past" by the Crests. [IMG]

Thanks Rich, that tells me what I need to know.

Now Bob, I don't have any N scale left. I have those big bad things. But they sound nice.

Bob, I hear the HO steam sound is really good. Just a thought.

The engine house was washes of white, grimmy black, tarnished black, oily black, dry brushed white, with light gray, dark gray and two shades of rust chalks.

Last was a shot of Dull Coat.

New Zealand train yards have big lights on big towers for all those people who want to model night scenes.

May not help your American quest much; but if the detail companies offer them, someone must have used them? [IMG]

I know Bachmann goes fictional, but I'd trust BLMA et al.
